Tower
Ambition, isolation, the high view and the collapse.
BiblicalTarotJungian
The tower is height achieved in isolation. The Biblical tower of Babel is the archetype of ambition that separates people from one another; the Tarot’s Tower card shows that separation struck by lightning. Jungian analysis reads tower-dreams ambivalently: a tower can be a hard-won perspective, or it can be an ego cut off from the ground. A tower you climb often marks a perspective the psyche is acquiring; a tower collapsing, an identity built too narrow that the psyche is releasing. Notice whether the tower is of stone, wood, or something stranger, and whether you are inside, climbing, or watching from a distance.
