Eye

The eye is the organ of witness. Egyptian tradition gives us the Eye of Horus as protection and wholeness restored; Hindu iconography the third eye as the awakened ajna chakra. Jungian dream analysis treats eye-symbolism carefully: eyes in dreams may be the Self watching itself, or an internalized critic, or a genuinely other presence. A dream in which you cannot open your eyes often means a refusal in waking life to see something. A dream in which many eyes watch you suggests a sense of exposure. Notice whose eyes they are, and whether they are kind or cold.
